CAMERA TESTS AND TECHNIQUES:
We created a short horror film to test out camera shots, angles and movements. the initial aim was to create the horror sequence before doing further post production. I applied three effects that were the ghost effect, glitch effect and adding a vintage look with colour grading. I edited together two scenes with a smooth whip pan transition. I followed the movement of the camera to cut it together and make it look like it was done in a single take. For this, the camera was either handheld or on a tripod, with tracking of characters. We want to look into using handheld camera to get close to the characters without a large tripod, but we would use a small tripod to ensure footage was more stable than completely handheld. I personally want to look into using a dolly zoom to add suspense and transfer skill. It would add something to the final opening, that would separate it from others.

VIDEO EFFECTS:
I placed the glitch whenever the ghost of the girl was present. The aim was to create the sense that something wasn't right. The effect is more jarring than the ghost effect, which appears when there is a flashback triggered. I would look into using the ghost effect for our final horror opening to create the idea that the character isn't fully in reality. I have found a similar affect which is far more glitchy and looks like the subject would be under more stress. I wouldn't use the glitch effect that we used here due to it not linking to the story-line. If the horror was linked to technology, I would consider the glitch effect more relevant.
